Responsibilities
- Pitch and develop original, impactful sports stories that resonate across platforms
- Anchor sportscasts and contribute to daily news coverage as needed
- Travel regularly, including weekends, to cover high-profile games and events
- Produce, shoot, write, and edit content for broadcast, digital, and social platforms
- Create storytelling that evokes emotion and connects with diverse audiences
- Build and maintain strong sources within the sports community
- Operate a news gathering vehicle to and from assignments
- Collaborate with newsroom staff to prioritize and execute coverage
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of television sports reporting or anchoring experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field preferred
- Proven ability to shoot and edit video independently
- Strong live reporting and anchoring skills
- Demonstrated excellence in storytelling across multiple platforms
- Solid understanding of journalistic standards and ethics
- Able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
