About the Role

This is a 120-day seasonal assignment focused on delivering excellent customer service, driving sales, and maintaining store standards in the Sporting Goods department. The role supports day-to-day operations, including merchandising, inventory management, and compliance with firearm sales regulations.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner, answering questions and helping locate products.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Coastal Farm products, promotions, and store standards.
• Assist with stocking, pricing, and merchandising sporting goods merchandise, including restocking shelves and maintaining attractive displays.
• Support firearm and ammunition sales in compliance with federal, state, local, and company regulations, including verifying customer eligibility and completing transaction procedures accurately.
• Monitor inventory levels, report out-of-stock items, and ensure firearm displays and merchandise are properly secured.
• Perform daily housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, dusting, facing merchandise, and removing trash to maintain cleanliness and organization.
• Assist with seasonal floor sets, promotional displays, and department projects.
• Operate point-of-sale systems, handle radio communication with associates, and answer incoming phone calls.
• Help in other departments as needed and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of sporting goods, hunting, fishing, camping, or outdoor recreation products preferred.
• Ability to learn and follow firearm sales procedures and compliance requirements.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing work environments and shift priorities accordingly.
• Familiarity with computer systems, email, and standard retail concepts and practices.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, and stocking activities.
• Ability to safely operate ladders and stocking equipment when required.

Schedule

This is a seasonal part-time position requiring availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
