About the role

This position has age restrictions due to ATF and FFL laws, requiring applicants to be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct customer service and support by selling firearms, fishing, archery, camping and related items.
• Complete and review ATF forms, make sales and follow-up calls.
• Assist throughout the sporting goods department and other areas of the store as needed.
• Stock shelves, price merchandise, and perform inventory and other retail-related activities.
• Answer telephones and handle routine customer inquiries.
• Perform general floor maintenance and housekeeping.
• Move material using appropriate tools and equipment, including but not limited to: by hand, hand truck, pallet jack, dolly, and/or operation of forklifts or other vehicles.

Requirements

• Experience and knowledge of firearms, shooting, scopes, ammo, reloading, and accessories required.
• Knowledge of 4473 forms preferred.
• Hunting, fishing, camping, shooting, and general outdoors experience is preferred.
• Rigorous attention to detail is required.
• Computer skills required.
• Previous merchandising experience is helpful.
• Good communication skills and the ability to effectively engage with customers and staff on a regular basis.
• Able to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
• Able to resolve difficult or stressful customer service issues.
• Able to sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
• Able to work as a team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent preferred, not required.
• College degree preferred, not required.

Skills

• Must be able to pass a thorough background check.
• Must be willing to work any retail shift.
• Ability to complete training courses and pass certification tests provided by D&B Supply.
• Must be able to work majority of shift standing and be able to lift up to 75 pounds (majority of lifting will be between 5 to 45 lbs).
• Must be able to physically participate in resets, remodels and reconstruction projects.
