Responsibilities
- Perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground (with guidance)
- Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation
- Ensure all splicing operations meet strict customer and industry standards
- Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to aerial
- Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks
- Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and tracking material usage
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- Authorization to work in the United States for this company
- High school diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
- Valid state driver’s license (cannot be provisional) with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass a DOT physical exam and obtain a valid medical card
- Six months of copper splicing experience or one year of experience in the telecommunications industry
Qualifications
- Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber (preferred)
Physical Abilities & Exposures
- Routinely: Operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift over 55 pounds
- Occasionally: Work in confined spaces, use a ladder, keyboard, and mouse
