Responsibilities

• Perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground (with guidance)
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation
• Ensure all splicing operations meet strict customer and industry standards
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to aerial
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks
• Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and tracking material usage
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High school diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver’s license (cannot be provisional) with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam and obtain a valid medical card
• Six months of copper splicing experience or one year of experience in the telecommunications industry

Qualifications

• Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber (preferred)

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: Operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift over 55 pounds
• Occasionally: Work in confined spaces, use a ladder, keyboard, and mouse
