Spiritual Support Coordinator
Job Description Summary
We provide direct pastoral care and spiritual support to patients, family members/significant others, and staff throughout the hospital. This includes developing a 'parish' within the hospital, leading invocations at operating unit functions, crisis intervention, and representing OhioHealth Mission & Ministry.
Responsibilities And Duties
60% - Provides ongoing, "hands-on" ministry to patients, families and staff. Includes, but is not limited to: spiritual care, prayer, sacramental ministry, responding to codes.
20% - Serves as a contact person or liaison between local clergy, patients, families and staff. Assists in responding to requests for workshops, lectures, etc. from hospital/church/community. Shares responsibilities for providing a variety of worship services as appropriate. Assists coordinator of hospital volunteers in scheduling and overseeing ministry of volunteer chaplains.
10% - Shares rotation of all "on-call" responsibilities as needed.
10% - Participates as a member of interdisciplinary teams and serves on select hospital committees.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (Required)
Additional Job Description
Knowledge of pastoral care skills, especially as practiced within the hospital setting and in crisis situations.
Three years ministry experience.
Comfortable in providing inclusive ministry in a broadly ecumenical and interfaith setting.
