Spiritual Caregiver | Hospice | Community Visits

About the Role

Faith Hospice is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Spiritual Caregiver to join our growing team of health care professionals with a passion for serving those at end of life.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, individualized spiritual care and support to hospice patients, their families, and caregivers.
• Facilitate spiritual assessments and counseling, coordinate with patient clergy as requested.
• Facilitate rituals tailored to each patient's beliefs, needs, and values, enhancing their quality of life and supporting holistic well-being.
• Participate in an on-call rotation with the other Spiritual Caregivers on the Community Team - about every 6th weekend.

Qualifications

• Master's level degree from an accredited seminary or equivalent program required.
• Ordained, or similar license, with endorsement as a spiritual caregiver required.
• 1+ units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) is highly valued.
• 2-4 years of spiritual care experience in a medical setting; hospice and/or geriatric care experience is strongly preferred.
• Candidates must have a valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and reliable transportation to make home visits in the community.

Since 1995, Faith Hospice has been providing care to those with a life-limiting illness or condition as well as support to their families. Our doctors, nurses, social workers, chaplains, hospice aides, and volunteers serve patients in a variety of settings. Faith Hospice provides care "wherever our patient puts his/her head down to sleep at night" including private homes, assisted living or skilled nursing facilities, and hospitals. We also provide end of life care at Trillium Woods, our beautiful hospice residence in Byron Center. Working in hospice requires a special gift of caring for those patients and families at such a critical time. We understand that passion and seek to add more health care professionals to our team who share this passion as well.
