Spiritual Care Director

About the role

The Spiritual Care Director provides spiritual and emotional support for residents, families, and staff. They develop and execute strategic plans, including budget development and management, and serve as a resource for residents and families navigating difficult ethical decisions such as preparing advanced directives. The role includes offering support to those facing end-of-life situations and providing bereavement resources. Additionally, the director educates staff and volunteers on the importance of spiritual care in health and healing.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual and emotional support to residents, families, and staff.
• Develop and execute strategic plans, including budget management.
• Serve as a resource for residents and families, particularly in ethical decision-making (e.g., advanced directives).
• Support individuals facing end-of-life situations and provide bereavement resources.
• Educate staff and volunteers on the role of spiritual care in health and healing.

Requirements

• One (1) to three (3) years of active ministry in a church or healthcare setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in theology or a related field.
• Theological understanding and respect for all faith expressions.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Completion of at least one (1) to four (4) units of clinical pastoral education at Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) or National Association of Catholic Chaplains approved centers.

Pay

$32.00–$38.00 per hour.
