This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, within Spirit’s Defense Business Unit (“Spirit Defense”). Spirit Defense is an independent supplier to the defense and space marketplace. Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, development, and control of operations business areas to ensure successful contract execution in line with customer schedules, specifications, and cost targets.
- Implement appropriate measurements, controls, and systems to drive operational objectives.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and customer focus.
- Plan, monitor, and control the utilization of human and material resources to achieve program goals and drive performance.
- Assist in creating and maintaining a lean enterprise to deliver organizational agility in quality, cost, and delivery.
- Motivate, develop, and manage staff performance in alignment with business goals.
- Work with HR to ensure productive labor union and employee relations.
- Develop a culture of teamwork, accountability, customer focus, and continuous improvement within the Operations Team.
- Provide direction and purpose to Operations Team employees using performance management processes.
- Ensure effective implementation of Safety, Health, and Environment plans for the facility, internally and externally.
- Maintain regular and effective communication with Operations employees and labor union representatives on local and global company issues.
- Interact and liaise with external customers and suppliers to form constructive relations supporting business strategic intent.
- Implement succession planning, people management, development, recruitment, and retention strategies in consultation with HR.
- Own the day-to-day performance, quality, delivery, budget, etc., of the team.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance and Special Program Access (U.S. Citizenship required).
- 6+ years of experience in a management role in a manufacturing/operations environment.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with customers and suppliers at all levels.
- Effective planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Highly customer-focused with the ability to liaise at all levels internally and externally.
- Demonstrated leadership, financial, and business acumen.
- Knowledge and experience of lean practices within manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Pay
Summary Pay Range: $123,300 - $189,050
Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Security Clearance
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
