Spirit Defense - Entry Level Composite Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Work within a team and independently to build composite structure details and assemblies using carbon and other composite materials
• Work to instructions from drawings, documents, process specifications, quality control requirements, and established processes and procedures, to assure the timely delivery of quality products to the customer
• Multi-task and multi-machine operation where applicable
• Work on platforms up to ten feet above the ground
• Work in confined spaces
• Work over head
• Work within a team environment
• Proficient use of technology i.e. computer, phones, laser projection, digital vacuum gauges
• Use hand pressure and small tools to form and contour lay-up
• Maintain a clean working environment and clean as you go

Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): All applicants must be willing and able to work any shift, including alternative work weeks. Majority of new hires will be hired on 2nd shift.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance and Special Program Access (for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship)

• Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): An active U.S. Secret Security Clearance and Special Program Access (for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship) (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
• Composite experience
• Wet Layup, graphite
• Bagging of complex parts
• Working with hand tools
• Kevlar
• Fiberglass
• Epoxy-resin
• Composite sanding

Pay & Benefits

• Pay Range: $22.52/hour, with potential to earn up to $37.40/hour in accordance with the terms of the relevant collective bargaining agreement.

Security Clearance

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
