This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, at Spirit’s Defense Business Unit (“Spirit Defense”). Spirit Defense is an independent supplier to the defense and space marketplace, providing capabilities, technologies, and support through innovative engineering and rapid prototyping excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Support multiple high-value proposals to the US Government (USG) and USG Primes simultaneously, including TINA sweep activities and proposals going through negotiations.
  • Ensure compliance with DFAR and FAR to produce reliable and compliant basis of estimates (BOEs) for proposals above TINA and subject to Certified Cost and Pricing Data by reviewing RFPs, collaborating with functional experts, and authoring BOEs.
  • Complete checklists such as Proposal Adequacy and BOE Compliance Review.
  • Develop cost estimates, proposals, and business decision data for product development, established programs, and other management requests using standard tools to enhance revenue of existing contracts and support new business pursuits.
  • Use historical data, engineering task descriptions, and hardware descriptions to apply regression analysis or other estimating tools and methods for parametric estimates, “should cost” analyses, and labor/material/non-labor cost estimates.
  • Manage the process to collect cost data from functional representatives, subcontractors, and vendors, applying appropriate cost estimating rates and factors.
  • Develop and maintain estimating tools, data, and cost estimating relationships.
  • Provide cost/price information and financial analysis to cross-functional teams, management, and customers.
  • Participate in fact-finding and negotiations with government and customers.
  • Support proposal managers and independent cost estimates (ICE) to generate the “Price to Win” in new business acquisition.
  • Provide situational leadership to the Pricing and Estimating team and cost analysts.
  • Serve as an in-house resource for cost/price analysis on behalf of Spirit AeroSystems’ Defense business.
  • Conduct cost/price analysis of major supplier proposals for aerostructures components, materials, and hardware.
  • Advise on global supply chain negotiation strategies and support negotiations with supplier subcontracts.
  • Perform supplier fact-finding and accounting system rate & factor audits to validate supplier cost and pricing data.
  • Support negotiations representing supply chain cost elements within Spirit AeroSystems.

Requirements

  • Associate (Level 2): 2+ years of related work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance and Special Program Access (U.S. Citizenship required).
  • Strong computer skills and competency in Excel.

Qualifications

  • Mid-Level (Level 3): 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related area of study.
  • Experience with Department of Defense (DoD), FAR, and/or CAS.
  • Experience with SAP and ProPricer.

Pay

  • Associate (Level 2): $59,300 - $90,900
  • Mid-Level (Level 3): $76,400 - $117,150

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Additional Information

  • Kansas Tax Credit: Eligible for a $5,000 state of Kansas Aviation tax credit for up to five years.
  • Security Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). An interim and/or final clearance is required post-start.
