Denver Public Schools Spellbinders Storytellers bring stories to life in classrooms through oral storytelling. Volunteers help support literacy, imagination, and connection for students across the district. No experience needed—just a love of stories and working with kids. Training is provided!
About the role
- Volunteers visit the same classroom once a month for a 20–40 minute storytelling session.
- Time commitment: 1–2 hours per month.
- Location: DPS classrooms (on-site, weekdays during school hours).
- Training: Provided.
- Ideal for: Retirees, parents, bilingual speakers, and anyone who loves storytelling and kids.
Requirements
- Attend Orientation.
- Pass a background check.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Open to volunteers of all ages (teens, adults, 55+, international, corporate groups, and groups welcome).
- Wheelchair accessible.
Schedule
Volunteer period: August 10, 2026 – June 1, 2027. Sessions take place on weekdays (Monday–Friday) during school hours.
Looking for 20 volunteers.
