Spellbinder Storyteller – Inspire Students and Share Stories!

Denver Public Schools Spellbinders Storytellers bring stories to life in classrooms through oral storytelling. Volunteers help support literacy, imagination, and connection for students across the district. No experience needed—just a love of stories and working with kids. Training is provided!

About the role

• Volunteers visit the same classroom once a month for a 20–40 minute storytelling session.
• Time commitment: 1–2 hours per month.
• Location: DPS classrooms (on-site, weekdays during school hours).
• Training: Provided.
• Ideal for: Retirees, parents, bilingual speakers, and anyone who loves storytelling and kids.

Requirements

• Attend Orientation.
• Pass a background check.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Open to volunteers of all ages (teens, adults, 55+, international, corporate groups, and groups welcome).
• Wheelchair accessible.

Schedule

Volunteer period: August 10, 2026 – June 1, 2027. Sessions take place on weekdays (Monday–Friday) during school hours.
