About the role
Height Street Skilled Care, a skilled nursing facility in Bakersfield, CA, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Therapist (SLP) to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping residents improve their communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for residents
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive care
- Monitor and document resident progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Educate residents, families, and staff on therapy techniques and care plans
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory guidelines
- Ensure compliance with all safety, infection control, and HIPAA standards
- Participate in care planning meetings and required in-service trainings
Qualifications
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in California (required)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred
- Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Pay
$78 - $80 per hour (DOE)
