About the role
The Speech Therapist at MercyOne Elkader Medical Center is responsible for planning, administering, implementing, and evaluating speech therapy for various programs and services within the PM & R Department. This position involves providing direct patient care tailored to different age groups.
Responsibilities
- Plan, administer, implement, and evaluate speech therapy for all appropriate programs and services within the PM & R Department, for all patient age groups.
- Possess the skills necessary to provide direct patient care specific to each age group in accordance with department protocol.
- Schedule per diem with varied shifts.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited program.
- Certification by the American Speech and Hearing Association or be eligible to be certified.
- Certificate of Clinical Competency once fully licensed.
- Licensure (or eligibility for licensure) by the State of Iowa to practice as a Speech Therapist.
- Employee may be within their Clinical Fellowship year if able to meet ASHA requirements for completion.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited program.

- Licensure (or eligibility for licensure) by the State of Iowa to practice as a Speech Therapist.
