Speech Therapist II - Rehab Therapy

About the role

This position provides speech language pathology services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients to facilitate the highest level of independence and recovery from or adaptation to various deficits or disabilities through evaluation and assessment, functional activities, therapeutic exercise, procedures, education, and training. This role actively participates in departmental program development and educational programs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Provides patient treatment and patient/family education for each assigned patient.
• Schedules and coordinates patient care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Maintains all required documentation for each patient in compliance with regulations and expectations of the assigned area.
• Supervises rehabilitation technicians in their role as care extenders in the clinical setting.
• Continues to develop individual knowledge base of best practices, new techniques, and technologies, and participates in continuing education activities.
• Participates in continuous departmental quality improvement projects.
• Participates in teaching and mentoring staff members through education and peer review in the direction of the Rehab Manager.
• Participates in the planning, teaching, and evaluation process of students meeting departmental and university standards.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience including clinical fellowship year.
• Demonstrated interest, aptitude, and skill in student programs, clinical education, and program development.
• Master’s or advanced degree in Speech Language Pathology from an approved program, with Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
• Licensed Speech Language Pathologist in the State of California.

Pay

Pay range: $52.43/hr. – $76.01/hr. Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities.
