Speech Therapist

Qualifications

• Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups.
• Necessary Education: Master's Degree
• Necessary Skills:
  • Knowledge of Speech Language Pathology theory, procedures, practices and equipment
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proactive, positive approach to problem solving
  • Thorough knowledge of possible hazards/necessary precautions/remedial actions in the care of patients
  • Ability to assess for and implement treatment programs for simple and complex therapy diagnoses.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Required Licensure/Certifications:
  • Current Florida license as Speech-Language Pathologist
  • BLS from the American Heart Association effective March 1, 2018
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA is required at hire or transfer into role
• Preferred Experience: Experience in Video Swallow Studies, Speaking Valve, Voice Prosthesis and FEES preferred.
• Preferred Education: Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
• Required Experience: Less than one year clinical experience in area of job opening (e.g. Acute care, Outpatient, SNF).
