Responsibilities
- Screens patients/residents and evaluates them, developing appropriate care plans
- Provides direct resident treatments in accordance with an established plan of care
- May perform additional assigned administrative duties, such as assigning and overseeing resident care activities, medical record oversight, and ordering supplies
- Consults with and trains patients/residents and caregivers
- Demonstrates continuous new learning to remain current in the field
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Master of Science Degree in Speech Therapy
- Current licensure by the applicable state agency
- Two (2) years of clinical experience in long-term care preferred
- CEU's per state licensure requirements
- New graduates welcome!
Specific Requirements
- Ability to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and to interact effectively with all levels of staff and customers
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Standing and walking for significant amounts of time is necessary
- Excellent hearing and verbal skills required
- Manual dexterity required for documentation needs, manipulations of equipment, and direct patient care
- Ability to cope with periodic stress associated with changing census and staffing demands
