Speech Therapist - Acute Care

About the Role

The Speech Language Pathologist evaluates and develops treatment plans for patients of all age groups, monitors progress, and educates patients to achieve optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient conditions and modify therapy plans as needed
• Utilize knowledge of speech language pathology practices and equipment
• Maintain safety protocols
• Implement effective treatment programs for both simple and complex diagnoses

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology or related field
• Current Florida Speech-Language Pathologist license
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence
• Knowledge of speech therapy procedures, equipment, and hazards
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Video Swallow Studies, Speaking Valve, Voice Prosthesis, and FEES
• Less than one year of clinical experience during fellowship is acceptable
