Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and apply a wide variety of therapeutic techniques for the rehabilitation of patients with functional limitations, impairments and disorders.
- Provide, interpret, plan and supervise patient evaluations and treatments in accordance with the physician referral, ensuring the care, safety and wellbeing of the patient.
- Continually review the plan of care and make revisions as needed.
- Prepare progress reports on all treatments in conjunction with departmental policies and procedures and report to the physician as needed.
- Instruct and counsel medical staff and family members to assist the patient in treatment techniques.
- Perform voice evaluations, treatment of various voice disorders and bedside swallow evaluations.
- Demonstrate competency with the Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) for adults and pediatrics.
- Follow Code Blue and all protocols as per Clinic policy.
- Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by the Joint Commission.
Requirements
- Masters, Doctorate or SLP-D Degree from an accredited School of Speech-Language Pathology
- Registered in the State of Florida
- Current Speech-Language Pathology License (SP) from the State Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology or eligible Speech Pathologist (SP) license in the state of Florida
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American-Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Externship experience
Preferred qualifications
- Laryngectomy experience
