Speech Pathologist

About the role

Diagnoses and treats patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. Develops therapy plans to maximize communication and swallowing safety.

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic evaluations of speech, language, and swallowing.
• Develop and implement therapy plans.
• Document evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA when eligible (preferred).
• Current state license to practice as a Speech Therapist, maintained in good standing.
• At least one year of clinical experience is preferred.

Skills

• Expertise in communication and swallowing disorders.
• Strong documentation skills.
• Ability to educate patients and families.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Assist patients during therapy activities.
• Frequent sitting, standing, and light lifting.
• Work environment: healthcare and long-term care (LTC) facility.
