Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)_(Willing to travel in Virginia)
TIBS for Kids in Virginia is offering full-time, PRN, and part-time positions for a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) at all locations in Virginia (Fredericksburg, Springfield, Herndon/Ashburn). Pediatric experience is highly preferred but not required.
About the role
Under the direction and supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist, this position assists in supplementing, enhancing, and extending speech/language therapy services by completing a variety of tasks such as direct activities with students designed to develop pre-language and language skills, oral-motor control for speech production, vocalization, and use of assistive technology devices for communication. The SLPA serves children who have identified speech and language disorders and may have other disabilities as well. This is a 12-month position.
Responsibilities
- Assist in delivering speech/language therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist
- Engage in direct activities with students to develop pre-language and language skills
- Support oral-motor control for speech production and vocalization
- Assist with the use of assistive technology devices for communication
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences
- Ability to commute to the selected location (Fredericksburg, Springfield, Herndon/Ashburn)
- Must have SLPA license/certification
Pay
$35 - $55.00/hour, based on experience, availability, and qualifications
Schedule
- Full-time, part-time, PRN, or contract/temporary positions available
- Flexible schedule with full-time or part-time hours/days (Monday to Friday)
- 3-hour or 5- to 6-hour shifts
- Therapists decide the size of their own caseloads
