Responsibilities
- Facilitate communication competence for students/students in alignment with the NWRESD mission.
- Participate in various educational teams for decision-making related to general education intervention, evaluation, eligibility, and services.
- Plan and implement ongoing speech and language programs/services in collaboration with other educational services.
- Work with students exhibiting a range of communication disorders, including language, articulation, fluency, voice/resonance, and swallowing.
- Ensure high-quality, culturally and linguistically sensitive services for all students.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to enhance language access in the curriculum.
- Implement and support students using augmentative communication devices.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including IEP/IFSP documentation.
- Attend and participate in team, school, and district meetings.
- Attend and participate in professional development to improve services.
- Conduct hearing screenings, as needed.
- Supervise SLP-Assistants and/or paraprofessionals (as per licensure guidelines).
- Drive between locations as required.
Qualifications
- Licensure through the Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathology.
- Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology.
- Experience with children with a variety of disabilities and needs.
- Valid Drivers License; available transportation and proof of auto insurance.
