About the role

Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i's only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. The hospital provides specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region, including intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport, and high-risk perinatal care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide speech-language services and consultation for inpatients and outpatients at medical center locations and contract sites.
  • Work with people who have difficulty producing speech sounds, such as rhythm and fluency problems, stuttering, voice disorders, cognitive communication impairments, or those who wish to improve their communication skills.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of specialists including audiologists, speech-language therapists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists.
  • Help patients reach their full potential in mobility, communication, and daily living skills.

Requirements

  • Current Hawai‘i Speech Pathologist license.
  • Current American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) certification.
  • Current American Heart Association Heart Saver – AED CPR card.

Qualifications

  • One (1) year general speech language pathology experience preferred.
