Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), PRN
About the role
Harris Regional Hospital is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our dedicated rehabilitation team. This role plays a crucial part in helping patients recover and regain their confidence through speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing therapies.
Responsibilities
- Provide therapy to maximize speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities for patients recovering from acute care or undergoing outpatient rehabilitation.
- Communicate patient progress or problems to supervisors and other team members; assist with patient scheduling and post-charges daily to patient records.
- Document patient care in accordance with Lifepoint, regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements.
- Instruct patient's family or nursing staff in follow-through programs.
- Maintain equipment and work area in a safe and clean condition.
- Make presentations to support marketing efforts, at team conferences, and in-services.
- Handle job responsibilities in accordance with the Company's Code of Business Conduct, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, appropriate professional standards, and applicable state/federal laws.
Requirements
- Must be a graduate of a Master's level program in Speech Language Pathology and possess an NC License as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
- ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
- One year of experience preferred.
- ASLS certification preferred.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology.
- NC License as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- ACLS and PALS certifications.
- One year of relevant experience.
- ASLS certification.
