About the role
MedStar Health is looking for a Speech Language Pathologist to join our outpatient team at Therapy - White Plains. The Speech-Language Pathologist provides speech-language pathology services, including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, patient reevaluation, discharge planning, and documentation in a variety of settings. The role also involves participation in program planning, protocol development, and assisting the team in meeting established goals.

Responsibilities
- Provides evaluation services, including review of historical information, performance of assessments, and documentation of results.
- Explains evaluation findings and treatment plans to patients and families, incorporating their input into goal setting.
- Implements treatment protocols based on evaluation findings, patient presentation, and the evolving healthcare environment.
- Consults with other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Recognizes and documents changes in patient condition, modifying the plan of care or seeking consultation as necessary.
- Completes discharge planning and follow-up care.
- Accurately and timely documents and charges for patient care activities, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Demonstrates effective time management and meets productivity expectations while maintaining an accurate schedule.
- Commits to providing frictionless patient access to care through flexibility, adaptability, and empathy in a consumer-driven environment.
- Pursues and directs continuing education for professional growth and competency.
- Serves as a clinical instructor for assigned students.
- Assists with orientation and mentoring of new staff, students, and volunteers.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or Doctoral degree from an accredited school of Speech Language Pathology.
- Completion of clinical fellowship year (CFY).
- Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in Maryland, District of Columbia, and/or Virginia, as required for the specific location(s).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- ASHA (American Speech Language Hearing Association) Certificate of Clinical Competence.
Pay
This position has a hiring range of USD $74,214.00 - USD $134,596.00 per year.
