About the Role

We are seeking a passionate Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services for residents with impaired swallowing or communication due to disease. You will evaluate, treat, document care, and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to help residents maintain or attain the highest level of function possible.
Location: 100 Chapin Ave, Red Bank, NJ 07701.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate residents’ functional needs when referred by the attending physician or interdisciplinary team.
- Follow physician’s orders, facility policies, and procedures to evaluate and treat residents; complete required documentation.
- Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) in establishing communication and/or swallowing decline prevention policies and procedures.
- Participate in discharge planning when appropriate.
- Perform diagnostic tests, evaluate, and document evaluations of referred residents in accordance with facility policies.
- Provide treatment to help residents maintain or attain the highest level of communication and/or swallowing function within their physical abilities.
- Recommend and provide appropriate treatment, preventative measures, and assistive devices to prevent functional decline.
- Provide resident or caregiver education to support communication and/or swallowing function.
- Maintain timely and accurate resident reports as required by regulatory agencies and third-party payers.
- Perform all duties in an effective, timely, and professional manner.
Requirements
- Current license as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of practice.
- Certificate of clinical competence in speech from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA), or equivalent educational requirements with pending ASHA certification, or completion of necessary education and work requirements while accumulating supervised experience for certification.
- Solid computer skills; prior experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.

Pay
$41–$52 per hour.
