Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

About the Role

At Powerback Pediatrics, we provide high-quality, compassionate, and effective therapy services directly within the school environment throughout the Greater Chicago area. Our School Based Speech Language Pathologists serve students aged 3-21 with various communication, feeding, and/or developmental challenges.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans that focus on functional and measurable outcomes as mandated in the student’s Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Consult with other professionals (Teachers, OT, PT, PCP, etc.) on the student's treatment team to ensure cohesive and comprehensive therapy.
• Assess and document each student’s progress through formal and informal tests and measurements.
• Write and prepare annual review reports and goals for each student in accordance with their IEP dates and state guidelines.
• Attend school-related meetings such as Triennials, Annual Reviews, Domains, Referrals, IEP, and pre-IEP meetings.
• Provide screenings and evaluations to determine requirements for skilled school-based speech language pathology intervention, including expressive and receptive language skills, feeding, communication, and augmentative communication devices.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, Communicative Disorders, or a similarly titled area acceptable to ASHA.
• Eligibility for a Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA or participation as an ASHA Clinical Fellow in select markets.
• Licensed, certified, or credentialed as required by the state of practice.
• CPR certification required.
• ISBE Professional Educator License required.
• Clinical experience with the pediatric population preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong leadership and client relationship skills.
• Ability to exercise mature judgment and initiative in analyzing and solving problems.
• Maintain professional attitudes and respect for school staff.
• Treat all students with dignity, compassion, empathy, and respect.
• Effective organizational skills to manage high-volume caseloads.

Pay

USD $52.00 - USD $60.00 per hour.
