About the role

Miner School provides an intensive, comprehensive educational program for students in Early Childhood through Grade 8 with a wide range of special needs including cognitive disabilities, multiple disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, behavioral disorders, physical/health impairments, and communication disorders. Multisensory instruction is provided in a highly structured environment with intensive supports and resources to address individual student needs. Services are provided in a team-based instructional model that addresses the needs of the whole child within a nurturing and responsive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide multisensory instruction in a highly structured environment
  • Address individual student needs through intensive supports and resources
  • Work in a team-based instructional model addressing the needs of the whole child
  • Create a nurturing and responsive learning environment

Requirements

  • Experience working with students with special needs
  • Knowledge of multisensory instruction and team-based instructional models
  • Ability to work in a highly structured and supportive environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Qualifications

  • Education in education or related field
  • Special education certification preferred
  • Experience working in a school setting

Skills

  • Knowledge of special education methodologies
  • Ability to work with diverse student populations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Pay

Schedule

Monday through Friday: 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
