About the Role

As a Speech Therapist (SLP), you'll help patients improve their communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities through skilled, evidence-based care. Your role is key in helping patients make progress and independence while working closely with a supportive, collaborative rehabilitation team. You'll have the opportunity to practice in a well-resourced, consistent environment that values your clinical judgement and protects your time through clear caseloads, streamlined workflows, and network-backed clinical collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Complete interdisciplinary evaluation and treatment as part of a team using age-specific competencies.
  • Participate in conferences with physicians and other members of the therapy team.
  • Complete patient and family education.
  • Complete discharge planning in conjunction with the therapy team.
  • Complete documentation of evaluation results, treatment plans, and patient progress per HCA guidelines.
  • Meet the personal and practical needs of patients, families, and other customers of Fairview Park Hospital as described in "Patients First Service" using appropriate and effective communication skills.
  • Accept accountability for completion of assignments, demonstrate reliability and dependability (including compliance with the attendance policy), and utilize time and material cost-effectively.
  • Continue self-development, provide leadership, and actively participate in Performance Improvement Activities.
  • Reflect HCA values, policies and procedures, and its ethical and compliance principles in daily activities (Code of Conduct).

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) (must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date)
