Speech Language Pathologist - Per Diem Substitute

About the Role

This per diem substitute position provides speech-language services for students with disabilities, ages 5–21, across various locations within the Monroe One BOCES Clinical Therapy Department.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan programs, and deliver speech-language services tailored to individual student needs.
• Communicate with parents, teachers, professionals, and community agencies to support student progress.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including preparation for annual reviews and re-evaluations, integrating communication skills with academic goals.
• Provide thorough and timely reporting in accordance with department policies and program requirements.
• Participate in departmental, program, building, and team meetings, as well as staffing sessions.
• Implement various service delivery models and maintain a consistent daily schedule.
• Establish and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, parents, students, and other professionals.
• Maintain credentials through ongoing professional development.

Requirements

• NYS Certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped or Teacher of Students with Speech/Language Disabilities.
• NYS License as a Speech-Language Pathologist (preferred).
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (preferred).
• Experience with school-age special and general education populations (preferred).
• Experience with itinerant service delivery models (preferred).
• Experience with neuro-developmental approaches (preferred).
• Experience and/or knowledge of assistive technology and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) (preferred).
• Physically able to perform essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Pay

$40 per hour. Actual salary may vary based on education, experience, and contract. Internal applicants will receive their current hourly rate of pay with Monroe One BOCES.
