Speech/Language Pathologist - Inpatient - Per Diem
About the role
We are seeking a per-diem Speech Language Pathologist to join our inpatient rehab team. Responsibilities include conducting initial evaluations and developing treatment plans for adult and geriatric inpatient populations in the areas of swallowing, voice, language and articulation and cognitive-linguistic assessment. High priority needs are bedside swallow assessment in cases of suspected aspiration and post stroke assessment of swallow, communication, and cognitive function. Strong collaboration and communication skills are necessary to educate patients and families, and report findings and recommendations for diet modification or follow-up speech needs to Hospitalists and nursing staff.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial evaluations and develop treatment plans for adult and geriatric inpatient populations in the areas of swallowing, voice, language and articulation and cognitive-linguistic assessment.
- Perform bedside swallow assessment in cases of suspected aspiration and post stroke assessment of swallow, communication, and cognitive function.
- Collaborate with Hospitalists and nursing staff to educate patients and families on diet modifications or additional speech needs.
Requirements
Strong collaboration and communication skills are necessary. Candidates must hold a current license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of New Hampshire.
Qualifications
Experience in acute care settings preferred.
Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Schedule
This position is intended to help cover SLP needs during school and summer vacation weeks, and holidays as able.
