Speech Language Pathologist - Clinical Fellow - East Palo Alto + Redwood City

About the role

The Speech-Language Pathologist – Clinical Fellow (CF-SLP) provides assessment, intervention, and case management services that support students' communication development and access to instruction. This role works under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist during the Clinical Fellowship year.

Responsibilities

• Counsels and consults with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to integrate communication strategies into classroom instruction and daily learning experiences.

• Develops individualized therapy plans and implements evidence-based speech-language interventions that support measurable progress toward IEP goals.

• Maintains accurate clinical documentation, attendance records, Medicaid or state reporting documentation (where applicable), and student records.

• Participates in supervision, coaching, and professional learning activities that support successful completion of the Clinical Fellowship year.

Requirements

• Eligibility for or possession of a California Required Professional Experience (RPE) Temporary License to complete the Clinical Fellowship year.

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.

• Knowledge of speech-language assessment, intervention planning, and IEP processes.

• Experience conducting diagnostic evaluations and interpreting assessment data under supervision.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students from historically underserved communities.

• Bilingual in Spanish or Vietnamese (preferred).

• Experience in a TK–12 educational setting (preferred).

Skills

• Knowledge of federal and California special education law related to speech-language services.

• Ability to conduct diagnostic evaluations and interpret assessment data under supervision.

• Ability to manage competing priorities, concentrate for sustained periods, analyze complex information, and make decisions under normal work pressures.
