Responsibilities
- Facilitate communication competence for students/students with a variety of disabilities and needs.
- Participate in educational teams, making decisions related to general education intervention, evaluation, eligibility, and services.
- Plan and implement ongoing speech and language programs/services in collaboration with other educational services.
- Work with students exhibiting a range of communication disorders, including language, articulation, fluency, voice/resonance, and swallowing.
- Ensure high-quality, culturally and linguistically sensitive services for all students.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to enhance language access in the curriculum.
- Identify and implement appropriate instructional strategies, modifications, and accommodations.
- Use augmentative communication devices as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including speech and language evaluations, progress reports, transition reports, and student data collection.
- Attend and participate in team, school, and district meetings as necessary.
- Attend and participate in professional development to improve knowledge and service quality.
- Conduct hearing screenings, as needed.
- Supervise SLP-Assistants and/or paraprofessionals (as per licensure guidelines).
- Drive between locations as required.
Qualifications
- Licensure through the Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathology.
- Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology.
- Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish, preferred.
- Experience with children with a variety of disabilities and needs.
- Valid Drivers License; available transportation and proof of auto insurance.

Essential Functions
- Ensure high-quality, culturally and linguistically sensitive services for all students.
- Be aware of language acquisition in linguistically and/or culturally diverse populations.
- Provide intervention appropriate to the age and learning needs of individual students.
- Design and implement school-wide speech-language services using a continuum of service delivery models.
- Address social, academic, and vocational needs impacting educational goals.
- Consult and collaborate with teachers and parents to support literacy development.
- Identify and implement appropriate instructional strategies, modifications, and accommodations.
- Support students with the use of augmentative communication devices.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including speech and language evaluations, progress reports, transition reports, and student data collection.
- Attend and participate in team, school, and district meetings as necessary.
- Access and attend professional development to enhance knowledge and service quality.
- Conduct hearing screenings, as necessary.
- May mentor and/or supervise graduate SLP students, clinical fellows, and/or new SLPs on the team (as per licensure guidelines).
- May supervise SLP-Assistants and/or paraprofessionals (as per licensure guidelines).
- Drive between locations as required.

Compensation is based on negotiated contract, licensed salary schedule, bargaining unit NWEA, FTE 0.50, 20 hours per week, Work Days 192.
