Speech-Language Pathologist

About the role

Join our team as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a school-based program. Work full-time in Huntington, NY, providing therapy to students aged 5-22 with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role requires expertise in communication devices and involves a consistent weekday schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapy to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Work with communication devices as part of treatment plans
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Assess and evaluate student progress towards IEP goals
• Develop and implement therapeutic interventions based on assessment findings
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and plan next steps

Requirements

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Current New York State Speech-Language Pathologist license
• TSSLD or TSHH certification
• Certificate of Clinical Competence preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Experience with children with disabilities preferred
• Experience with communication devices is a plus
