Speech Language Pathologist

About the Role

EdAdvance is one of Connecticut's six Regional Educational Service Centers (RESCs) and a partner in the RESC Alliance, working collaboratively to support state-wide initiatives. We promote the success of school districts and their communities through a systemic approach grounded in the "3C's": Connection Culture, and Customization. This per diem position reports to the Director of Birth to Three Services and serves the Torrington region with a flexible schedule.

Anticipated start date: August 17, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct home visitation with infants, toddlers, and their families
  • Perform developmental screenings and/or eligibility evaluations
  • Collaborate with clinical team, families, and other professionals
  • Participate in the development of the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP)
  • Assist with the transition to preschool programming and other community supports
  • Regular and consistent attendance (considered an essential function)

Requirements

  • CT Licensed/Certified Speech Therapist (MA/MS, CCC, SLP)
  • Experience with infants, toddlers, and families
  • Service Coordination training (or willingness to obtain)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Ability to develop effective relationships and excellent interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and therapeutic holding as required
  • Must be able to perform essential functions with or without accommodations

Travel

Position requires home visitation and regional travel throughout the Torrington area. Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and car insurance.
