Covenant Case Management Services is seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to provide comprehensive speech and language therapy services to members enrolled in the North Carolina Innovation Waiver. You will play a vital role in helping individuals improve their communication skills and enhance their quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify speech or language disorders
  • Assess members' auditory, visual, motor, and cognitive abilities to determine appropriate speech device recommendations
  • Provide training on devices and equipment to ensure proper usage
  • Adhere to NC Medicaid Innovation's clinical coverage policy 8-P for Specialized Consultative Services
  • Utilize standardized assessment tools to evaluate speech and language abilities
  • Manage cases independently by maintaining accurate records and progress reports
  • Collaborate with the team to recommend equipment eligible for Medicaid and Innovation Waiver coverage
  • Utilize tele-consultation services when necessary

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a criminal background check
  • Not listed in the North Carolina Health Care Abuse Registry
  • Resident of the state of North Carolina
  • Valid North Carolina driver’s license
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Active license issued by the North Carolina Board of Speech-Language Pathology
  • Active NPI number and NCTracks profile
  • Professional Liability insurance with coverage of $1 million per occurrence and $3 million aggregate limits
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and/or traumatic brain injury is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) methods
  • Experience with Dynavox devices
  • Understanding of how to submit Durable Medical Equipment (DME) claims
  • Experience conducting assessments via telehealth or in person
