Covenant Case Management Services is seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to provide comprehensive speech and language therapy services to members enrolled in the North Carolina Innovation Waiver. You will play a vital role in helping individuals improve their communication skills and enhance their quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify speech or language disorders
- Assess members' auditory, visual, motor, and cognitive abilities to determine appropriate speech device recommendations
- Provide training on devices and equipment to ensure proper usage
- Adhere to NC Medicaid Innovation's clinical coverage policy 8-P for Specialized Consultative Services
- Utilize standardized assessment tools to evaluate speech and language abilities
- Manage cases independently by maintaining accurate records and progress reports
- Collaborate with the team to recommend equipment eligible for Medicaid and Innovation Waiver coverage
- Utilize tele-consultation services when necessary
Requirements
- Successful completion of a criminal background check
- Not listed in the North Carolina Health Care Abuse Registry
- Resident of the state of North Carolina
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active license issued by the North Carolina Board of Speech-Language Pathology
- Active NPI number and NCTracks profile
- Professional Liability insurance with coverage of $1 million per occurrence and $3 million aggregate limits
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office
Qualifications
- Knowledge of working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and/or traumatic brain injury is preferred
- Working knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) methods
- Experience with Dynavox devices
- Understanding of how to submit Durable Medical Equipment (DME) claims
- Experience conducting assessments via telehealth or in person
