About the role

Expatiate Communications is a management consulting firm specializing in special education. We partner with school districts, COEs, state agencies, and families to strengthen instruction, services, staffing, compliance, and operations. Our work focuses on delivering high-quality, sustainable special education programs that improve outcomes for students with disabilities by meeting IEP needs and building capacity across educator teams.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in preparing and helping students use augmented alternative communication devices and software.
  • Document student progress toward IEP goals and objectives.
  • Assist the SLP during student assessments and screenings.
  • Adapt and modify instructional materials for teachers to use in the classroom.
  • Travel to school sites across California and occasionally to our Pasadena, CA, for corporate meetings.
  • Provide client support on VillageED and iTAAP platforms.

Requirements

  • Valid registration as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant with the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, and a certificate of completion from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant’s program.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software.
