Primary Responsibilities
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to students individually and in small groups under the direction of the supervising SLP.
- Implement treatment plans targeting speech, language, fluency, social communication, and functional communication skills.
- Support students using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems.
- Prepare therapy materials and maintain a positive, engaging learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers to support student success.
- Assist the supervising SLP with evaluations and other assigned duties.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or an Associate's/Bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders with 95 hours of supervised practicum.
- Maine certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant.
- Maine Department of Education certification and fingerprinting.
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
