About the role
A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in our school district supports students' communication skills to ensure academic and social success. They assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. SLPs develop individualized education programs (IEPs), provide therapy services, collaborate with teachers and families, and track student progress. They also assist students with social communication and may support feeding or swallowing needs when relevant.
Responsibilities
- Assess and diagnose speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Provide therapy services to address identified needs
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and other professionals to support student success
- Track and report on student progress
- Support students with social communication needs
- May support feeding or swallowing needs as appropriate
Requirements
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist in your state
- Experience working with children and adolescents
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
Qualifications
- Knowledge of speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders
- Understanding of educational and psychological assessment tools
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
