About the Role
As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you'll play a vital role in helping students overcome communication challenges and thrive in their educational settings.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations to identify students' needs for specialized therapy services
- Share evaluation results with parents and district personnel, ensuring clear and compassionate communication
- Collaborate with the ARD committee to create targeted, evidence-based therapeutic interventions that enhance student performance, participation, and access to education
- Deliver therapy services directly or supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistants in implementing IEP goals
- Maintain accurate, detailed records of student progress and use data to adjust interventions as needed
- Participate in ARD meetings, parent conferences, and other relevant discussions to advocate for and support students' special education programs
Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program
- Active license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Texas
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Bilingual skills preferred but not required
