About the Role

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you’ll play a vital role in helping students overcome communication challenges and thrive in their educational settings.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations to identify students’ needs for specialized therapy services.
  • Share evaluation results with parents and district personnel, ensuring clear and compassionate communication.
  • Collaborate with the ARD committee to create targeted, evidence-based therapeutic interventions that enhance student performance, participation, and access to education.
  • Deliver therapy services directly or supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistants in implementing IEP goals.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed records of student progress and use data to adjust interventions as needed.
  • Participate in ARD meetings, parent conferences, and other relevant discussions to advocate for and support students’ special education programs.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
  • Active license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Texas.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).

Skills

  • Bilingual skills preferred but not required.
  • Compassionate communication with parents and district personnel.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively on intervention strategies.
  • Proficiency in documenting progress and adjusting interventions based on data.
