About the role
The Speech Language Pathologist will assist learners with individual communicative needs; work collaboratively with school personnel to accomplish student speech language goals and objectives, and meet all regulatory standards as required by federal and state governments, and operate within the Teacher Code of Ethics as defined by the Minnesota State Law.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and conduct evaluations for Part C and Part B evaluations.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments of a child, the child's family, and in the development of integrated goals and outcomes for IEP's/IFSP's.
- Educate parents and others regarding the provision of services.
- Provide specialized instruction as outlined in IEP's/IFSP's.
- Consult with parents, other service providers and representatives of appropriate community agencies to ensure the effective provision of services.
- Schedule and conduct a system of continuous evaluation of each student's progress.
- Plan and conduct a system of continuous evaluation of each student's progress.
- Participate in meetings (IFSP/IEP, conferences, parent meetings, in-services, etc.) for the purpose of developing plans and/or providing information regarding student's goals/outcomes.
- Prepare documentation (evaluations, observations, progress reports) for the purpose of providing information and reporting requirements.
- Maintain records and reports as required and for compliance with administrative policies, state and federal rules and regulations.
- Make referrals to other professionals and agencies on behalf of the student as appropriate.
- Encourage and instruct parents and educational staff in appropriate methods to assist their child.
- Collaborate with Special Education Staff about student needs and progress.
- Provide Service Coordination and IEP case management as needed.
- Provide and maintain 3rd party billing/ Medicaid billing profiles and notes on eligible students.
- Supervise school personnel in regard to carrying out learner's specific learning goals and objectives.
- Maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Current Minnesota teaching license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology / CCC SLP.
- Experience working with students with a wide variety of communication needs.
- Clinical Fellowship Year opportunities available.
- Experience in due process procedures including conducting evaluations, writing IEP's/IFSP's, monitoring progress, and facilitating meetings.
- Possess a valid Minnesota Drivers License and proof of liability insurance coverage with minimum limits of $100,000 per person/$300,000 per accident.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to be a member of a team.
- Ability to be flexible based on program and student needs.
- Knowledge of screening, evaluation, and assessment instruments and their application.
- Knowledge of all due process requirements and strong computer skills.
- Ability to implement IEP's/IFSP's.
- Ability to work under the supervision of a site principal and/or special education supervisor/administrator.
- Ability to adapt equipment and materials for children with disabilities.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Sensitivity in working with individuals with various physical, psychological, cognitive and sensory abilities.
- Ability to work with students, families, professionals, and staff of various cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
- Ability to interact with and maintain cooperative relationship with all levels of staff and the public.
- Ability to effectively use office equipment such as computers, email and office applications like Google Docs, Sheets & other online applications as needed.

Pay
$ 46,936 - $ 90,238 (Based on education and experience; wages outlined in the Certified Master Contract located on district website)
Schedule
8 per day, Monday through Friday (184 Duty Days + An Extra 10 Days = 194 Total Days)
