About the role

M.S.A.D #49 is seeking a full-time Speech and Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join the special education team.

Responsibilities

  • Implement treatment plans and conduct speech and language exercises with students individually or in small groups to help them meet their goals.
  • Assist with assessments: Help the SLP by administering and scoring screenings and progress monitoring tools.
  • Document student progress: Keep detailed notes on student performance and progress, which is a key part of the overall therapy plan.
  • Support the SLP: Assist the supervising SLP with various tasks, which may include preparing materials, administrative duties, and helping during evaluations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
  • Current certification as an SLPA from the state of Maine.
  • Experience working with individuals with speech and language disorders.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field preferred.

Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • $45,000 - $50,000 annually.
