About the role
M.S.A.D #49 is seeking a full-time Speech and Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join the special education team.
Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans and conduct speech and language exercises with students individually or in small groups to help them meet their goals.
- Assist with assessments: Help the SLP by administering and scoring screenings and progress monitoring tools.
- Document student progress: Keep detailed notes on student performance and progress, which is a key part of the overall therapy plan.
- Support the SLP: Assist the supervising SLP with various tasks, which may include preparing materials, administrative duties, and helping during evaluations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
- Current certification as an SLPA from the state of Maine.
- Experience working with individuals with speech and language disorders.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field preferred.
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
