About the role
The incumbent will direct or assist in directing a competitive Speech and Debate program, meeting Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) requirements. The coach serves as both a mentor and positive role model for students.
Responsibilities
- Build positive working relationships with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
- Develop young athletes while fostering a strong, positive, and competitive team culture that emphasizes good sportsmanship and academic excellence.
- Mentor, train, and educate athletes in the sport, including necessary skills and techniques.
- Promote excellence and a winning culture on and off the court or field.
- Train student athletes in safety and injury prevention.
- Ensure compliance with UHSAA requirements and regulations.
- Maintain a program with strong traditions and collaborate with an involved community.
Requirements
- Cleared background check through Granite School District (cost covered by the district).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of multiple trainings and certifications, including anti-bullying/hazing training, concussion training, and First Aid/CPR certification.
Qualifications
- Prior coaching experience preferred.
Pay
Stipend only.
