About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional/Speech Aide to provide support in our educational programs. This position involves working with students in small groups or one-to-one assignments, assisting with learning activities, and maintaining a safe and supportive classroom environment.

What You’ll Do
- Works with students in small groups or in prescribed one-to-one assignments to tutor, reinforce, or follow up learning activities in basic academic, language, and/or specialized subject areas related to the level of achievement.
- Assists in organizing learning environment; prepares and sets up instructional materials and/or equipment for use in classroom activities; maintains instructional material and equipment.
- Affords assistance to teachers in implementing the course of study through one-to-one and group instruction.
- Affords assistance to teachers in establishing and maintaining a clean, safe, and cooperative classroom and learning environment.
- Affords assistance to teachers in supervising and monitoring students during lunch & recess.
- Maintains confidentiality of student records and classroom information in accordance with legal requirements and policies.
- Attends in-service and staff meetings as required.
- Helps maintain a clean, safe, and cooperative classroom.
- Performs other duties as needed.
What You Bring
- High school diploma- required.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
- A minimum of one year (100 hours) of paid or volunteer work.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software.
- Basic understanding of child development and behavior.
- Possess a valid CA Speech Aide license, or be eligible and willing to obtain one through the Speech-Language Pathology Board.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children is required.
- Knowledge of curriculum development and classroom support techniques.
- Familiarity with special education principles is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively with students with diverse learning needs.
- Experience in childcare, daycare, or early childhood education is beneficial.
