About the role

This position is for the 2025-2026 school year.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students with mild to moderate disabilities in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Collaborate with other special education teachers, general education teachers, and related service providers to support student learning.
• Evaluate student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Requirements

• Hold a valid Mississippi teaching certificate in Special Education (221 Mild/Moderate Disability).
• Experience working with students with mild to moderate disabilities is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Current certification in Special Education from the State of Mississippi.
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations regarding special education.

Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.
• Proficiency in using technology to support student learning.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 annually.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is 180 days per year, with summers off.
