The Diverse Learners Teacher position at CPS is dedicated to providing a high-quality public education for every child, preparing them for success in college, career, and civic life. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) aligned with State guidelines
- Collaborate with case managers, counselors, and general education teachers to address the unique needs of diverse learners
- Create a classroom culture that supports effective student learning and growth
- Design engaging lessons and assessments that challenge students and align with curriculum standards
- Maintain a safe and disciplined classroom environment according to the Student Code of Conduct
- Use technology and curriculum supplements to personalize learning experiences
- Advocate for the district’s vision and contribute to its common themes of equity, cultural competence, high expectations, and student responsibility
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
- Valid teaching license from the Illinois State Board of Education, endorsed in LBS1
- Completion of the CPS online application and teaching profile
Qualifications
- Deep understanding of content, pedagogy, and student knowledge
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional judgment
- Experience with managing diverse student populations
