The Diverse Learners Teacher position at CPS is dedicated to providing a high-quality public education for every child, preparing them for success in college, career, and civic life. Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) aligned with State guidelines
• Collaborate with case managers, counselors, and general education teachers to address the unique needs of diverse learners
• Create a classroom culture that supports effective student learning and growth
• Design engaging lessons and assessments that challenge students and align with curriculum standards
• Maintain a safe and disciplined classroom environment according to the Student Code of Conduct
• Use technology and curriculum supplements to personalize learning experiences
• Advocate for the district’s vision and contribute to its common themes of equity, cultural competence, high expectations, and student responsibility

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
• Valid teaching license from the Illinois State Board of Education, endorsed in LBS1
• Completion of the CPS online application and teaching profile

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of content, pedagogy, and student knowledge
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and professional judgment
• Experience with managing diverse student populations
