SPED Part-Time Instructional Support Aide

Responsibilities

• Help teacher prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of materials and equipment.
• Aid in the preparation of administrative records and required reports.
• Assist in the implementation of ARD identified accommodations for students or small groups of students.
• Demonstrate support for student management policy.
• Assume responsibility for learning how to work with students' individual needs.
• Supervise special education students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom; this may include some campus duties.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events as assigned.
• Perform special projects, during and after normal business hours, and other duties as assigned.
• May travel as necessary.

Requirements

Must have a passion for students, especially students with disabilities.

Must have the ability and patience to work interactively with students, especially students with disabilities.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong computer skills to implement multiple and diverse programs.

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.

Preferred KSAs

• 2-3 years of experience as a SPED Paraprofessional for a Charter School.
• 2-3 years of experience maintaining and supporting programs designed for students with disabilities.
