About the role

The SpEd Paraprofessional - Autism position at The da Vinci Academy supports students in the autism spectrum under the supervision of a teacher. This role involves assisting with daily teaching activities, implementing specific programming, and managing student behavior.

Responsibilities

  • Performs day-to-day teaching activities under supervision
  • Aids in the implementation of educational goals for students in the autism spectrum
  • Works one-on-one with students to apply specific behavioral and educational strategies
  • Maintains and updates student records and behavior management plans
  • Supports students with various daily activities and tasks
  • Participates in meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices
  • Ensures compliance with special education regulations and policies

Requirements

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience working with students in the autism spectrum is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates must possess strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
