SpED Paraeducator - Early Childhood Education (ECSE)

About the role

Kent School District seeks a Paraeducator to support students at Soos Creek Elementary.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom teachers in providing a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with lesson preparation and implementation as directed by teachers.
• Supervise students during breaks, lunch, and other transitional times.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.

Requirements

• Prior to starting, candidates must meet the minimum employment requirements for paraeducators in the State of Washington.
• Associate (AA) degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• 72 college level credits from an accredited institution.
• A score of 455 or higher on the ETS ParaPro Assessment and proof of high school completion or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Willingness to take the ParaPro Assessment if not already met.
• Completion of state required training upon hire.

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of educational standards and best practices.

Hourly Salary: Min: $30.89 Max: $37.99

Salary Schedule: KAP Salary Schedule Step placement based on verified years of experience in an educational unit. Salary is annualized and spread through August.

Hours: 6.5 hours/day
