About the Role
Park Orchard Elementary is seeking paraeducators for a long-term temporary assignment. This position involves supporting students in an elementary school setting.
Assignment Details
- Assignment Type: Long Term Temp
- Hours: 4.5 hrs/day (average – daily schedules may vary based on student days)
- Tentative Dates: 08.25.2026 – 11.25.2026
- Calendar: 190 Day KAP Calendar
- Positions available: 4
Pay
- Hourly Salary: Min $30.89 – Max $37.99
- Salary Schedule: KAP Salary Schedule – Step placement based on verified years of experience in an equivalent position. Salary is annualized and spread through August.

Minimum Employment Requirements (State of Washington)
Prior to starting, candidates must meet one of the following:
- Associate (AA) degree or higher from an accredited institution
- 72 college level credits from an accredited institution
- A score of 455 or higher on the ETS ParaPro Assessment and proof of high school completion or equivalent
If you do not yet meet one of these qualifications and are willing to take the ParaPro Assessment, you can still apply. If you are the chosen finalist candidate, you will have the opportunity to take the test prior to being formally hired into the role.
Post-Hire Requirements
Upon hire, paraeducators will be required to complete state required training offered through our KSD Professional Development Team.
